We are pleased to welcome Michael McMullin to the new post of Mission Development Worker. This post is shared among three congregations, Priestfield, Reid Memorial and Craigmillar Park. His job is to identify opportunities for intergenerational mission in the Blackford/Mayfield/Prestonfield area of south Edinburgh, developing new forms of outreach and building productive relationships with the community.
Michael is a Fifer and has worked across a range of fields including accountancy and taxi-driving. He felt called to ministry and studied at Highland Theological College, working during that time as a volunteer chaplain at HM Prison Grampian. He has worked most recently as the Community Outreach Worker at Gorgie Dalry Stenhouse Church here in Edinburgh and was instrumental in the project to transform the old Stenhouse St Aidan’s sanctuary into a permanent care shelter for the homeless, in partnership with Bethany Christian Trust.
We look forward to getting to know Michael better and to working with him on the work God calls us all to do in this area.
